Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

The Yanks biggest problem is stadia infrastructure. The main stadiums are geared up for American football (plastic pitches)..They actually lay turf down on the plastic when they play the round ball game, rendering them unplayable in most players eyes. They would never stand up to 80 mins of RL.
Other smaller venues with grass pitches, just don't have the facilities to accommodate.Suppose it depends on how much they are willing to chuck at it.
Then theres the consequences of England losing the bid and missing out on the additional £10m community and grassroots government funding. The game needs the money here first.

Understand what you are saying, Atomic, But if the Yanks made a BIG success of it and it boomed in America. The high profile it would bring to the game of Rugby League and especially here, the £10 million you quoted would be peanuts

The yanks have no shortage of stadiums, some of the unis have grounds significantly bigger than SL sides main stadiums.
