I have it on good authority that whoever has done the calcs for the bridge has done it wrong.
They want it to pass under the fly over but has to be high enough to pass a large boat under but also accept a truck / lorry over it,
and supposedly the bridge they were working on /up to does not do both!
along with the wind loadings.

It's just been announced that the funding for the Metrolink to now extend too the Trafford Centre has been approved and will be finished by 2019, should in conjunction with the new road and bridge make getting to games much easier.
Though we might all have Jetsons style hover cars by then  icon_wink.gif" alt="icon_wink.gif" title="Wink" /> |

The stadium should never have been built until the roads and instrastrucutre was complete. It was the RFL that said we had to move unless we would lose our Super League license. Now we see Cas and Wakey still playing in there sheds and you now no longer need a decent ground to play in the Super League.

Wakey didn't seem all that full for the Wigan game. Fair play to Castleford they have definitely gained a lot from that Challenge Cup Final appearance last year. |

....and the Willows may well have been fuller if we had still been there, I think the folk who may have been tempted back to the Willows by a successful team (and found it more convenient to get to) are definitely put off by the difficulty of getting to Barton. There's at least two people I know who refuse to go to Barton, no matter how well we're doing. Of course, it's now impossible for me to get there too but the roads and rail link won't help my cause!! icon_lol.gif" alt="icon_lol.gif" title="Laughing" /> |
