But I feel he is a big problem, for the moral of the players and coaches, venting your anger in public like he does( there are ways and means of doing it correctly) Backing and supporting your players, especially as he signed them, would be more beneficial to create a happy team.
He is making playing for Salford just earn the big bucks
He needs to do what other chairmen do, keep out of the press, shut up and leave running the team to the coaches he employed to do the job
Spitting your dummy out of the pram achieves nothing
Whether we like it or not, I can't see him changing his nature. He wears his heart on his sleeve and he will do what he feels is right. Whether it is right is debatable but we'll just have to bite the bullet on this. Personally, I like the fact that he's passionate about the Club and sport and wants to do the very best he can. I'm sure some of his methods need a rethink however, as they are definitely not what is required for a stable ship. He needs to keep his passion but strengthen the core of the Club rather than give it a shake and see what falls off.
It's his toy to play with so we'll have to go along with it.
However, as we both know from VT, the critics are lapping this up. I'm sure the people he has upset at RL Towers are taking this on to use when needed. And if we are not careful with the cap or with non-Fed players (or even in disciplinary meetings), it will be used.
Also, as some posters have referenced, there would have been more than fans at this evening. There would have been business links. A serious blow to networking that the marketing department will find hard to overcome.
I think he's a genuinely nice guy who has been hurt by Sunday: hurt more than me as I have not lost ... over a million? this year. I think he's a fan and an owner and so feels more links to us than other owners. I was hurt and angry after Sunday. But I'll be there on Sunday next with hope in my heart. After all, I was born there.
