20 each half wouldnt have been enough. Moves were put on all over the park. Joy to watch. Big difference from 5 drives and a kick.

I think you are taking this thread completely the wrong way. Ashcroft and Murphy are both legends from the 60's and 70's era, particularly Murphy. Both are real characters and that has brought with it some very amusing quotes from the pair over the years. Both are not backwards at coming forward with their opinions on the game. Wasn't Murph's newspaper column called Murphy the Mouth?



I think the point you are missing is every time Mr Barker is short of news for the MEN he often turns to them for an opinion about Salford.

I only read a Barker piece once and He described Warrington as the most hated club outside of Stockton heath.... I tuted and said swear word. Ive never read the dobbers column since. Stockton heath along with lymm would be the borough/village of Warrington least interested in the working class sport of Rugby League...maybe it was the only bourough he knew or maybe he tried to get in one of Stockton heaths' fancy wine bars and Was refused entry for being a bald scruffy oik.... either way it appears he still isnt mighty with the pen...
