Appeared to be (and I'm sure he was) a lovely bloke. Seve was definitely up there with the most skilled and charismatic of sportsmen/women. Quite sad news

I was shocked by how upset the news left me yesterday, Seve was one of my childhood heroes & I feel very priviliged to have seen the great man play. He handled his long illness with a dignity & bravery which, if it were possible, made me admire him even more. Terrible that he was taken from us so young, one can only assume that God needs someone to help him develop his short game. RIP Seve.

My first and possibly only sporting hero, an inspiration to me to learn to play golf and someone with charisma when so many of todays golfing greats seem to be be so sterile.
Seve made golf great in my childhood and as I freely admitted yesterday I shed a tear when I heard the news of his passing.

A true legend of the game of Golf and will be sadly missed. Great players come and go in sport but great characters are few and far between. Passionate, charismatic and a bl00dy genius with a golf club. Anyone who can shoot sub-par yet drive the ball as bad as me is a god in my eyes
