Good to see some of the younger players in in place of the older and never made it...Westerman, Shenton, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Myler, Atkins, Tom Briscoe (who is a bit of a surprise for me).
I think it looks a decent squad from what's been selected so far - experience age-wise in Morley and Peacock and plenty of experience playing-wise in O'Loughlin, McGuire, Burrow, Wilkin etc...bit surprised there's only one hooker chosen unless he's planning on playing Myler at 7 and Burrow as interchange hooker? Or is Tom Briscoe a hooker??
Im presuming that others will be added to the squad throughout the season though so there's still the chance for Adamson to force his way in if he continues performing as he has done.
Pleased for Richie though as it looks like these 17 are being looked at as the backbone of the squad for the next few seasons...well done to the lad.

its the elite squad a group of players that are gonna meet though out the year to train and develop. As the season goes on the squad will be added to make it between 25 and 30 players. These player will then hopefully form the basis of the england squad for the future, but these players will not automatically get picked for England should a better player be available, although they stand better chance of being picked.
