Unfortunately Giants fans are too dim to realise that what goes around comes around. They're on the up at the moment and good on them but Trinity's day will come and we'll pass them on their way down (and we might also beat them one day!!!)

Its just the odd Giants fan, one with a beef against all things Wakey, i can assure you he's not popular at his own club but thats another story.

It was good to see the big screen being used after the match with the families on sat the field watching the game. How many of those kids playing on the field will be asking their parents to go back for the next game? A fair few I suspect.



I think it's fair to say that ALL TV games this year have suffered in attendances regardless of the teams we only had 6.3k for the visit of Hull KR - money is tight for everyone and if you don't already have a ticket when it's on TV people are more likely to save a few quid and stay in.

Hopefuly the kids will want to go back which will add more to the gate, but like you say if games are on sky it's bound to put a fair few off. But sadly nothing I or anyone else on this forum can do apart from turn up to the games week in week out.

It is getting the kids in, it the adults who are apathetic. Having said that the add-on is ridiculous, get rid I say.

Poor crowd, no excuses. The same match on TV two years ago pulled in 8K. Granted both teams were vying for a playoff spot and it was close to the business end of the season but still the way the support is falling off is a worry.



There seemed to be a number of attendances earlier on in the season that appeared undercooked but the last few have looked and were scant.



I think the club need to look at their pricing structure. £18 is far too expensive at the best of times, never mind during a period where people are be reigning in their outgoings.



But I must say well done to Celtic on their victory and encouraging crowd figure. Free tickets or not they need to expose people to RL and beating a historically famous name in Wigan will boost their cause no end.

Mitigating circumstances aside (TV, Saturday evening etc) I don't know where the fans have gone especially after such a rise last year. Up until this week I felt the club had under quoated the actual figure, this week there actually looked less than 4,800.



To put Celtic into perspective, when we played them they got just over 2,000 of which according to Stevo Wakey provided half that figure. I suppose if we played Saints and pushed it hard and gave away freebies we could double our gate - would that be a success - I personally think not.

You need to educate yourself on what constitutes obssessive. I spend only a few minutes a day on this forum and only part of that may be posts on wakey. More online time on facebook/Myspace etc and your ickle club does not feature.



Wakey and quins are both doing well this year but gates are very poor. There is clearly a willingness for Cas fans to support RL successes. If public funds folow public interest (support) then Cas over wakey any day. Hopefully celtics can push on through 2010/11.

What are Wakefield going to do to get their crowds up?

Initially, I think they are going to provide a fiscal stimulus to regenerate the country’s economic climate which in turn will provide extra readies in the punters pocket to come and spend at BV.



Short of that I have no idea but I believe it is something they are looking at seriously. Reaching out into the Barnsley area would be beneficial to the club as well as reducing the adult match day price. They also need to improve their presence within the city centre. Most people see the club as perennial strugglers rather then the average – good aside they are. You speak to people with little interest in the club and say that Trinity are sixth and it comes as a surprise.

Having spoken to one of the fellas in charge of the licence process, I know you were very lucky to get in last time.



From the outside looking at it coldly, a merger would be the logical option, BUT... if someone suggested my club merge with a rival I'd spit on their grandmother.



Surely it makes sense all round for yourselves and Castleford to share a stadium though.
