When Salford were promoted to super league ,the first time, the fixture list came out and threw up Salford at Paris at Easter so not wanting to miss this we booked flights and hotel early only for the fixtue to be reversed three weeks before the game. so it seems it's an ongoing problem.



So as you can see this was back in Super league two or maybe three.

I think most of us have come to accept that games will be moved at short notice to keep sky happy which as annoying as it is doesn't generally cause major problems for games that are being held in this country - yes you will get the "bugger I can't go now" cases and the times when hotels have to be changed for those travelling a bit further - but for the Catalan games they really should be thinking about the fans who have made - often pretty expensive - travel arrangements which generally can't be changed and stick to the days set down when the fixtures are announced unless there is an exceptional reason to change the game.

Whilst I feel sorry for the Quins earlier this season they bumped an arranged visit of Bradford in order to play the Aussies in a friendly. The words Pot and Kettle soring to mind.

You will find that the supporters of Quins did not get together and decide to bump the Bulls game, anymore than the supporters of Catalans decided to move this game or any others in the future.

I dont see why the scheduling coulded be sorted at the start of the season, its basically laziness by sky. The football season is over so what real justification can they have for this? Its very poor.

Quins get stick for their alledged lack of support, but is this the way to increase the fan base? The RFL need to grow a pair.

The point is that whilst games in the UK get bounced all the time (try being a quins fan and check out the Friday fixtures this year, and the bumped HKR game that resulted in lost deposit and cancelled coach), this poll is regarding the protection of ALL RL Fans cash when booking trips to a different country...HTH

I've read this pathetic "argument" in support of Sky's decision to do this so many times on here (mainly from the idiots on the Leeds forum) and I am at a loss to believe that people can be so stupid.

Can we get it correct first of all, SKY do not televise the Catalan Games its a local broadcaster who have the rights so surely its them you should be having a go at and maybe asking THEM why its been moved.

You'll find that I haven't supported the decision.



The reality is though that Sky, and Sky alone, have bought the rights to schedule games as and when they wish, irrespective of whether it is "right" or not.



They've done it before with Heineken Cup games and I sure that there was a similar outcry then. Have they changed their policy? No.



We need Rupert more than Rupert needs us, the RFL are in no position to start calling the shots over what Sky can and can't do.

I agree, the problem we have isn't all down to the RFL, what Sky are doing is a disgrace, regardless of how much money they pay, making bizzare, irrational decisions when there are so many better alternatives for both them and the supporters of Rugby League. Its a joke.

Fair Point...and taken on board. Problem is, this is the first time a catalan home game has been bounced in 3 and half seasons. If it was known that this season it may happen, an announcement would have prevented a lot of financial loss to fans.

As I have said elsewhere, Little old Quins RL are being used to test the water and results so far point to 83%+ fans being bu99ered if it happens again.

Mmmm. From what I understand this is no longer the case. This is Sky that are showing it, and are bound to go down there twice in a season.

ah...apathy. The ruling classes have maintained power for centuries because of it.



If the 110 odd people who have voted so far were to cancel their SKY SPORTS subscription from October to February, this would save them about £90......and so far, in 90 minutes cost SKY £9,000. Not saying people will or should, just trying to get enough votes to be able to send the results to Woods at the RFL to make them aware of the impact on fans.

Deafening silence......more worrying is the apparent Apathy from the club I have supported for 7 years, given my money to (many £,000's) as well as my time and effort when required (when we were the Broncos).



I am a realist, but if we were to get 1,000 votes (unlikely), then the RL press might sit up and take notice. I do not expect SKY/Orange TV/the RFL or anyone else to take any notice, but I bet when the fixtures are released for next season, the rush to book trips is down unless assurances are given. Even if 1 person is prevented from losing £300+ because of this poll, then it will have been worth it...........!
