It's too early for talk of sacking McRae I feel. Those players will still be playing on instinct, they won't be much of a team yet. They've brought something like 8 in and let 13 leave. That is a major overhaul and it will take a lot of time for players to learn the defensive patterns.

In all honesty though i would get shut of McRae now if somebody of quality can be brought in - Noble has already been mentioned and if i were a Salford fan at the moment id be looking for a change.



Its not the fact that they have lost two games, more the way they lost them and im not sure if all of Salfords new signings are as good as people like to make out.

They need a new coach. Mcrae is rubbish and would be better talking on the tele! I have no doubt that with a top class aussie coach like Maguire or Smith that Salford would be in the top 8 with those players. Same goes for Hull. They could challenge for the title with Maguire or Smith. Look what its done for Warrington and you can already see an improvement in Bradford after a pre-season with Potter.

I'll tell you what went on, we had our biggest crowd for about 2 years, and what happens. Tactics are all wrong again, the only players who looked interested were Spencer, Ratchford and Cashmere. Going forward we were clueless and made no metres, the odd set we did pretty good then knocked on, and in defense, well it was aboslutely awful, they just ran straight past us like we were invisible, I mean Saints didn't even play that good to be honest except from some bits of magic. It was absolutely awful, first game in a while we have a half decent crowd and the performance is that bad, don't think we'll be seeing anyone at our next home game.

The problem is McRae. I don't understand where this idea that he's a good coach came from. Did nothing for Hull, won with a Saints team that my granny would have coached to success, consecutive bottom places for Souths and delegation followed by obscurity for Salford. Get rid.

The question is can we afford to get rid of him and birng someone new in though.

Are there any other coaches that everyone thinks are rubbish who have won premierships, challenge cup finals, coached in superleague and NRL, international teams etc. Or is it just McRae? I seem to recall Saints had won neither cup nor league for 10+ years when he took over.
