Sky will be the only bidders so if they are upping the money then that is great news. I totally understand why Sky would want a 3 team outside of the M62 corridor.

I thought it was announced only 3/4 do? Wire, KR, Leeds & then Wigan / Saints just as a guess. Bare in mind Wigan didn't bring anyone in last year and Saints squad has a lot if youth. For example Salford were said to be spending less than 1 million last season.

its time the RFL offered sky more games and get a much larger deal



ideally an extra 7 million pounds pa or 500,000 pounds per club to get all clubs operating in a healthy way financially



maybe another 1.5 million to give Les catalans, quins and wrexham an extra 500,000 pounds pa to help them not only survive but prosper in expansion areas.



one day down the track a game on Free to air would also help but thats a long way away

Isn't it slight irrelevant as the RFL dishes out all SKY money and has never published the amount per club? Which is odd as it should all be an equal split surely? In the interests of competitiveness that is, such as the salary cap?

see your point but, with respect Paris & the north of france isn't a RL area - Toulouse to Perpignan is the RL 'hotbed' and will always attract support/sponsorship and wil always be more likely to survive - it's probably a bit like setting up a NRL team in Alice Springs...

basically you are talking cobblers ! even a Dragons side bottom of the league playing at Perpignan whips up as much,if not more passion than many of the other SL grounds

Unfortunately over recent years both TO & Catalans have suffered from successful RU teams in the same town and of course the french,like many of the uk fans only have so much money to spend

Ask any travelling SL fan what the atmosphere is like at Gilbert Brutus.

I think his point was that Perpignan isn't an 'expansion' area because it is an established RL zone and has been for years. Don't think it was a dig at TO or Le Cats.
