There is growing a pair and there is leading with the chin. The RFL needs to avoid legal challenges from players whose livelihoods the rules could threaten.

The RFL should have hired a good legal team when they came up with this idea - now it just seems half baked.



IIRC it was HKR who opened the loophole so they could keep Stanley Gene on the books. I thought it only applied to players already in SL at the time of the new rules being introduced. Has anything changed?

anyway, bring on your next way to insult wigan, sooner or later you will see the light. the whole idea about not having overseas players is to make the england side better, but 6 of the england squad came out of wigan. now correct me if im wrong, but doesnt that mean one out of every four players in the squad came from the wigan youth setup.

How dare Wigan develop so many players. Who said you have to keep them once you develop them? Nobody. With a bit more time there will be a few more successes from smaller clubs, like how well Huddersfield have done this year.

In the last three years the overseas quota has dropped from 10 to 5, there was a reported 97 nrl trained players in sl last season.

Imports over developing your own talent.



On one hand you bag England selections then on the other you totally miss the point over your own teams choices for imports over English.

On the other hand, you could argue a 25% increase from the 2010 number to the 2011 number. Depends how you wish to look at it

Again, Wigan do develop talent.



They don't have to stay in Wigan to be developed, they can become good players elsewhere like Brown, Robinson. Just because you pay them and we have what we feel is better, doesn't mean they are Huddersfield doing their bit for England. Huddersfield didn't bring them through.
