not sure where you got that. saw lots of "try it" £48 for four summer games tickets, family tickets for £18 if you give us your details (clever), lots of kids playing flag league (if they got in free good - i saw lots of those young uns staying for the main game) buy a box for wigan and hull kr get a certain amount off but as some one who lives and works in south wales and obsesses about the mighty cru ive seen nothing about free tickets. any genuine sources or just hearsay? anyways cracking game, tight and passionately fought. my kind of league game but still some decent tries as well. great atmos in the club house, wigan fans were fantastic a credit to the sport.

Was talking to some Celtic fans in the ground when I came down the other week. Said the club were handing out free tickets and even putting flyers on peoples cars.

well done York, i will be taking my lads and the Wife and up your attendance for the game and maybe the kids will be back in the future, any other clubs wanna take note

You also have to look at the pull of Wigan. Despite what anybody says... Outside the games heartlands... They are still the biggest name in the game, and if anybody was perhaps likely to take in just one game this season down there then that is likely to be the one.

the credit crunch is taking its toll, Huddersfield did the ticket deal which as paid dividends

Erm, the free family tickets are nothing to do with York. The tickets are provided by Cooperative as part of the league sponsorship deal and it is the same for every Thursday night Sky game.

In the seats at BV - where i had my 'free ticket' there seemed to be very few people . Have not watched it on tv yet. So not many high margin payers.



The team are punching above their weight and the people of wakey cannot be ar*ed. The proportionate drop in gates at trin must be one of the highest in SL.



With most clubs struggling on hospitaity and sponsorship significant cuts in gates are extra difficult.

We are not punching above our weight thank you very much. Yeah our attendances have gone down but nothing us lot on here can do about it apart from going to the games.

we are punching above our weight imo, that to me is not something to be ashamed of. although similarly if it wasn't for the sugar daddy then we all know where shudds would be right now

I don't think we are, we have a decent team and IMO should aim for a top 5 finish at the least.



We have shown what we are capable of and I am sure we can do much better than that.

Why have so many fans given up going to games at wakey despite their league performances? It is unlikely that the recession has hit wakey more than other RL towns and cities.

i dont necessarily disagree with that although top 5 is pushing it, but the fact remains we are punching above our weight because we have sh11t all money and spend a much lower amount on wages than just about everybody else. we also have crowds lower than many of our rivals. as such it highlights what a good job kear is actually doing considering the circumstances

The team we have is capable of a lot better. Top 5 finish we should be aiming for.



Why have fans given up?.. I don't know the answer to that. But it's expensive for a family to go watch week in week out. And that was what most of our crowd was made up of.
