The lad liiks very green in terms of all round rugby skills. You'd never get someone playing in the NRL with such weak basics. Speed and raw athletism though look exceptional.

More Nathan Merrit than Greg Inglis.

First saw the lad on Sky last week, makes mistakes in defence, but and a big but is that he can score. Being a Saints fan he reminds me of Sullivan in the way he can judge a situation and is able to stand the fullback up. Look at the two trys he has scored stood up Donald and beat Webb (i think), today beat Gidley for pace and stood up Wellens.



Great prospect in my opinion

Good old fashioned pace with a side step and the confidence to go for the try.

He is very very raw. Has no rugby league skills whatsoever, Sort of like Offiiah. But what the hell, if hes scoring tries we might aswell throw him on one of GBs wings, he'll be better than our current shower.

He has only took the p*ss out of two of the best fullbacks in the world in his first 2 games. raw talent who has the ability to go far, just hope he gets the right guidance.

Jealousy get's you nowhere, we should try and produce players like Hardman.

He's young so hopefully we can iron out those problems. When he's running with the ball though the guy is a thread. His running style does remind me of Offiah though. Great potential in the lad so fingers crossed with him because I've not seen such a raw talent on the wing in a long time.

Thing about penny is, you can bulk him up a bit, you can teach him defence and defending kicks.



But you can't teach his pace and ability to finish.

Face facts, Wire fans haven't got much else to cream their pants about.

I feel to need to try and help you as I think it's quite shocking and pathetic why a lady should use such language and display herself in such an unpleasant manner, nice use of the chomp phrase.

Because they are shallow and have no existence beyond here and fele compelled to attract attention to themselves by making tangent based comments?

Am I the only one who sees nothing in the guy apart from a good athlete?



I don't mean to be dismissive (The kid is young and could well develop) but to me, he looks out of his depth.



His try against Saints was, IMO, more to do with shoddy defence. Gardner, Gidley and Wellens all could and should have tackled him. Yes, he showed great pace, but that was it.



In defence, he looked very very poor. Twice he just ignored Gardner in the last ten minutes, and I had to laugh when Saints put a bomb up in the first half and he just basketball style knocked it into touch, making no attempt to catch the ball.



I am not writing him off, and hate to criticise young players, but this guy seems to be getting so much love on here, and I just can't see why. It's like Danny McGuire all over again.



Give him some time, and allow him to develop in defence and he could become a good player, he has the athleticsm to do so, but at the moment, I am deeply sceptical.

Ok becasue Penny can score a few trys and has a bit of speed makes him a better player than someone who has good defence, good under the high ball ( unlike Penny ), good positioning ( Penny doesnt have a clue ), good enough attack, can do the basics, and doesnt do much wrong in the full game.

I know who i would rather have

Jordan Tansey is a very good prospect but he isn't the best full back in the world yet.

You're an aboslute imbecile if you think Hardman is anywhere near Penny when it comes to potential.



My only gripe with Penny is he is a poor tackler, under the high ball he is safe. He played basketball all his life and seems to have the ability to catch a ball. I suppose a real test will come when he faces a winger who towers above him.
