All pathetic really, I'd love to see the research that Wakefield have done to find out where the crowds have gone, but we can't afford to or don't have the resource....

Agree with Barrow.
Not sure on Toulouse. They dont exactly help expand the game in the UK nor does it expand it in France.Yes it gives more exposure to French RL,but im not convinced it has actually improved or developed the French game, but thats a different debate.'"
I haven't seen the new criteria so I cannot comment. didn't know they had been finalised. Do you have a link?
I think one team in Fax and one in 'wakey/Cas' is more expansionist then 2 clubs in the same stadium in Wakey/cas.
SLE (superleague europe) has a 'European remit' and this aids a Toulouse bid

By all means disagree with posters. But now you have to be lurid. Sadly it is no surprise.
I know it must be difficult to imagine people attending your home games, so few do
Invoking mythical 'real supporters' is dreary. There are wakey fans who do believe the club is struggling financially, do believe that the failure to modernise the stadiumin a decade is very poor and think the low crowds indicate that wakey people are not that bothered about SL.
The Hull crowd was poor but this can happen with a Sky game. It is the overall trend that is problematic. With other SL clubs in the area showing no change or increased gates.

im sure even the most blinkered of wakefield fans know that things have gone wrong at our club but things are also being put right . what everyone fails to address is wakefield as very strong competition for support from cas wakefield this year are suffering from the hangover of not making the play offs .

Not as lurid as the last post. Good.
The idea that your support is down because you did not make the play offs is testable. Why that effects wakey people more than cas/hudd/Hull people is unclear. Nor is it clear why they would not come now that you are in a play off position.
I have never pretended to be 'bothered'. You are making things up. My hospitality was paid for and I get on great with my host and the people from his company. So the notion of pi**ing on someone's hospitality is down to the idea rattling around in your head rather than reality. Twas ever thus.
If you think I will tell someone like you where my host sits for most games you must be daft. If you need to pretend i was not there, go ahead. it can go with all the other fictions you cling to.
Back to topic. There are simple low cost ways that wakey could do the market research that would answer the low crowd question. I am sure there is the business acumen available in the club to sort it.
And maybe the SL meeting this wednesday _ yes I know everyone knows about this meeting - will indicate when criteria for the next licences will be finalised.

You cannot comment, yet you seem fit to comment that Fax would be "okay" as opposed to two clubs from one stadium.
So if you cannot comment and you havent seen the new criteria, how do you come to the conclusion that Fax would be Okay as opposed to two clubs in the same stadium.
Opinions differ, and in mine your comment that Fax would be Okay compared to two teams from the same stadium(Wakey/Cas) and to class that as expansion is utter tripe and you probably know it.But i doubt ,in my opinion, that you would admit to it.

the crowds for huddersfield are up because of the deal done pre season the cup attendance against cas may suggest that the credit crunch is taking effect even in huddersfield.
yes this years attendance will be down on last years but so is quite a few other clubs , if we were a lone entirety in this scenario then you may have issues but quite frankly its just another pop at Wakefield from the keyboard.
don't know why your still so afraid of wakefield as a club , why not concentrate on the giants
for the love of god please please please promote halifax so giants finally have a rival.

I understand the difference between expansionist objectives and licence criteria. Apparently you do not.
I take it you were refering to the old criteria in your earlier comments. Most people are aware that these will change. Do keep up there at the back.
If you wish to pretend that 2 SL clubs in the same stadium is consistent with an expansionist approach then go ahead. That is indeed tripe.

You don't understand crowds much - hardly surprising. Relying on the CCQF gate for a BBC game is clutching at straws.
Quite a few other clubs have not had the drop in gates that you have had - especially for a club that is 6th! But if you want to delude yourself go ahead.
Thin skinned comments about a 'pop' are silly when your gates are down (while being more successful this year).
Why would I be afraid of a rugby club? What strange thoughts you must have
Its great news about celtics. Hopefully the win and a bigger gate will encourage more local fans to attend games.

There you go with your tripe again.
Expansionism refers to expanding your territorial base.
You think Halifax does that?
I never said two clubs in one stadium is expansion -- so dont try and twist my words.
I said that Halifax is not expansion, that comment in isolation doesnt mean i believe two clubs in one stadium is expansion.FWIW its worth neither of the above fit with expansion.
You still didnt answer the question -- How is Halifax okay as expansion when two clubs in the same stadium is not. What extra in the name of expansion can Fax bring to the table?
And please try to do without twisting words or using your favourite little comments, like "keep up there at the back",trying to ridicule people points to the fact you are quite immature and cannot back up your argument.
Or alternatively you could go into your full"i hate Wakey mode and will never miss an opportunity to slate them"

That would actually be two questions, and I'll try and answer them:
There is no definition of what is OK for expansion and what isn't OK for expansion. It's totally a judgemental situation, with everyone having different judgements.
And two clubs in two different stadiums serving two different areas brings more than two clubs in one stadium serving effectively the same area. They may have different target areas for their fan base, but eventually central place theory will merge these two fan bases together around the hub that is the one stadium that they both share. In essence, they may as well just have one club in that one stadium. Having Halifax in would be an expansion in the sense that they would serving an area not currently occupied by a SL club.
Just for the record, this does not mean I support the idea of kicking out one of Wakey/Cas in favour of Halifax. But I am not a supporter of two teams sharing the same stadium for the central placement reason.

I hear what your saying Wellsy, but as someone that follows Wakey and lives in Halifax, unfortunately Halifax is already serviced by two/three Super League clubs -- Huddersfield/Bradford/Wakefield.
These clubs are active in the local schools and recently Wakefield invited junior teams from Halifax to play curtain raisers.I know many people that have defected from Halifax to support the Bulls over the last 5 years(for the record i was born and bred in Wakey and moved here 12 years ago).Halifax being in Super League may pull back some of the lost support from Bradford etc...but this only serves to spread the butter thinner on the bread, not expand.

Wellsy has explained why fax + one club from the wakey area is more expansionist than 2 clubs in the same stadium. Got it? Good
Your interpetation of maturity levels is of no interest to me. Your need to claim I hate wakey is pitiful. You and some other wakey posters like playing the game of telling people what they feel.
You and some others need to get those enormous chips off your tiny shoulders. Read what i write and you will see that I have said wakey are performing well on the pitch (said several times) I have said Tronc is a good signing (if it goes through)and that Elston is very good at his job. Its got up the noses of a few posters that I thought bringing Winterstein over was a poor option and that it appears that your club is having difficulties - tough. Hope that is clear.....or would you like me to draw you a diagram

A post that is not crude. Well done kidder.
Still wittering about 'obsession'? Has Mutts learned a new word?
I am writing about wakey's dreadful drop in gates and you are writing about me
Back to topic.
If the old licence scoring criteria were to be applied again then it is possible that any further falls in wakey gates could lose them a point.

back to the main topic great to see the crusaders getting such a good crowd and to top it off a win as well.
hope this bodes well for the welsh .
2 teams from the heartlands were playing both having Topsy turvy seasons , sky match on a Saturday night which many may off been swayed to stop at home light the BBQ and watch the match. unfortunately when people criticize one teams home attendance from a sky match they do so without gathering the viewing figures from sky.
