Most seasons, a team will come from nowhere, finish high in the table, then go back to obscurity the season after. Until you consistently challenge for honours, your team isnt in the same class as Leeds and St Helens. Thats why I said he would be a good signing for you, not quite good enough for the big boys, but a good signing for the second tier teams.

I personally think Dobson would be excellent in the Saints side and I don't see what you could've seen to suggest any different to be honest.

Because id rather take a punt on Eastmond thats why

Wigan fans, Hull FC and Bradford are arrogant because they have won nowt yet act the same as when they were winning stuff and high up in the league.

Don,t think Dobson would suit Saints style of play. Longy, even now is a better playmaker than Dobson, last week for instance Longy would have won that quarter final with a drop goal instead of Briers getting there first.

Not as a 7 im my opinion, although overall Eastmond will be the better player he just has that x factor about him, Its an interesting one, have the club indicated that Long will be replaced from within the club?

They have. We have Eastmond, Wheeler, Smith, Lomax all young half backs with great potential. It has even been suggested that Scott Moore could play at 7 as well. If we are stuck Roby and Wilkin can play 7. Put any of them next to questionably the best 6 in the league in Pryce and i think we have enough cover in the halves!

What ? was i asleep when we were winning trophies in SL or even challenging for them.

I actually think that Dobson would have gone very well at saints, he probably is the form 7 in SL at this time. That said, i'd rather have faith in our youth system. Hull KR will most likely lose Dobson next time as he will want NRL/SOO/rep honours. If just one one our lads makes it big time, they will most likely be with us for a decade.

He's the best 7 in superleague by a distance at the moment yet not as good as Eastmond





Nothing against Eastmond but he has a long long way to go before he's even considered a superleague quality scrum half.



One of the first things he has to do is prove he can string a few games together.

I completely agree, alot of saints fans are getting ahead of themselves with kyle. He hasn't done anything wrong, and in the small glimpses we've seen of him he looks great, but as you say without a string of games under his belt noone can be sure if his potential can be turned into onfield stardom.

Still, we will have loads of cover at 7, not on huge wages so hopefully we can afford a couple of monster props to destroy defences and wont even need a great 7

It's going to be interesting to see who takes the 7 shirt at Saints out of Eastmond, Smith and even Wheeler.



Whoever it is they have a big job on their hands and Pryce at the side of them will really have to take plenty of responsibility on his shoulders.

I think DObbo suits SL, his style of play doesn't suit the NRL at all I don't think, and from that I think he is one of the leagues better halves.





In saying that I can't see what Saints would need in him, Saints have already passed out some of the saving from letting longy go to a couple of our young players, and I think there are more to come too.
