What is the average gate so far anyone?

The average will not be a good indicator this year.



Even if crowds stayed the same, they've included 2 teams that average less than 5000 so that will bring the average down. So its no real indicator of support falling.



I suspect they have gone down but with the credit crunch its to be expected.

you can't really compare until the seasons end due to lop sided fixtures between the 2 years (derbies at different times of the season etc.). would expect crowds to be fairly stable this year

So apart from Leeds, Wakefield and Warrington, there haven't really been any considerable drops. And Hull, Hudds and Saints have made considerable increases

A fairer reflection is perhaps to compare average now with the average over the years since 1996.

Not really. Just stating the facts. Or does the truth hurt?

Doesn't hurt me one iota, I have no affiliations with the clubs mentioned.

I just didn't think Birstall Tigers comments were necessary.

Hudds have done an awful lot since the dire SL days of 02ish to get people through the door, I didn't feel a snipe about yesterdays game was needed

While those figures showing increases are good , the bottom line is only 4/5 at most clubs are breaking even and despite the RFL's main focus of trying to follow RU and have corporate support as a higher profile revenue earner the support of your average fans is and always will remain the most important part of RL



Anything less than the RFL's criteria ave of 10,000 means extra financial input from directors/owners



Move down a grade and thing look even worse

Aim all you want , but you might as well be aimimg for the moon

10,000 will easily be achievable in the new stadium, more away fans will travel to it, and more people from near by towns & villages will probably come too, better facilities means more fans, just look at Hull F.C. & Warrington.

Is it me or are 80% of Cas (my team) fans are nobs ? I just get the feeling the way we act sometimes you would think we were a top 4 team and have a ground like Hull or Hudds.

You might br right it worked for those clubs , but in all honesty their crowds were down on what they should have been Leigh havent increased despite moving , in fact many prefer Hilton Park Moving hasn't done Donny much good either I have posted many times that your attendances are very good for the size of your catchment but they could quite easyily be at their maximum now
