Who deserves an award?
I mean, English Rugby League is pretty much dead, all the best players and coaches are not actually English, the national side is a shambolic mess.....and you want awards?

Aussie in "not having a clue how things work in the Civilised World" shocker. 
These sorts of things aren't necessarily for "celebrities" (although that's the way it's gone in recent years, presumably to make the Monarchy appear to be more "in touch" with the real world). They can equally apply to a local community volunteer as they can a world cup winning footballer. |

Now that's good!
There are probably lots more as well in all sports (inc soccer) who put a lifetime of hard work and effort unpaid and yet are ignored wheras some 2nd rate "celeb" gets a gong for being..............
Glad that someone from our great game is recognised, even though I must admit I do think the honours system, as such, is outdated but whilst it's there lets make the best use of it.

Correct .... Given that around 80% of the list, alledgedley has come from publicn nominations, it would be interesting to know how many people on here who have complained about RL not being recognised have actually bothered to contact the Cabinet Office and nominate someone ? |

They dish them out for almost anything nowadays, most of the 1996 England Soccer Team had to wait years for gongs, the England RU team won the World Cup and were at the palace within weeks. |
