How far is George away from returning to the fold..will he available for Wembley or as he further time recovering 

Yeah i wouldn't play him at Wembley to be honest, he'll be far from full fitness and is pushing the recovery time so still won't be 100%. Would be great to have him back but i wouldn't use him.

I worry about his actual match fitness if he does get back for the final.

Whilst that may be George's aim, we need to work out what's best for the club. Using the time we have now to build the halfback pairing relationship we have available (that won the Semi final) and to avoid running any risk of fielding a player at Wembley that is not 100% match fit.  It's a long shot that we will beat Hull KR in any case I fear, even with a fully fit William's.  

I'm not a medical professional, but my understanding is that the issue would be around healing rather than fitness (semantics).  He's been following a programme, used by Leinster RU, which has managed to get a couple of players back within seven weeks.  There were pictures of him running on a treadmill which supported his weight, so I'm guessing that it can maintain fitness whilst the surgery heals and it's this which reduces the time until he returns i.e. he doesn't have to recover then train / regain fitness.
