Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

What a shame. International rugby league needs the opposite result.
I do hope that Robert Farah (hooker), Timothy Mannah (prop), Joshua Mansour (centre), Travis Robinson (centre) and Reece Robinson (full back) will declare their allegiances to Lebanon for the World Cup.

Isn't one of the Robinsons, (can't remember which one) playing union at the moment.

Yes, Reece Robinson is, on a two year contract with rugby union. But his current contract ends, and he would be available to play rugby league when the World Cup comes around, and he has said publicly that he wants to play for Lebanon in the 2017 World Cup.
Having him at full back (where he has often played), his brother as one of the centres, with Joshua Mansour, and Timothy Mannah and Robert Farah up front would be a huge boost for Lebanon.
All Lebanon would then need would be to find two quality halves and a couple more props to be really competitive (easier said than done, I know).

| A few of the heritage players for Lebanon with NRL experience would be good, but the thing we really need to see from Lebanon are players from their domestic comp playing at the group level in the world cup.
Nearly half the players in the qualifying games were domestic players, and like the Americans, they now have several guys who learnt the game in their domestic comps playing in decent standard teams in Sydney - one for the Newtown Jets I see.
The game has been played for nearly 15 years in Lebanon, mostly in a university based comp, and their comp is now a pretty good standard.
I really hope Lebanon have more domestic league players than any other emerging nation team at the WC.
