Like both players, both really grafted to get where they are and both won stuff down under as well. I don't think that the NRL poaching our players is necessarily a bad thing because English players are still getting recognition that they deserve and it can only help improve the England team.

Well if international RL is ever taken seriously it will be a good thing. As it is it just means the best players are not playing in SL which is not a good thing for the English game, imo.

When the British agitate for more Test football over an eight-year cycle, Richardson’s response is that in a sense Australians “already play 24 Tests in eight years, if you count Origins’’.

We should get organised. Get a working party together with us, NZ, Wales, France, Samoa, Fiji and PNG. Organise 3, 8 year international schedules. 1 with full Aussie participation. 1 with the Aussies having a 1 year break after each WC, and 1 with no Aussie participation at all other than WC's.
They have 3 choices. Force the Aussies to lay out their position and get a set timetable finally. With or without the Aussies, International RL will thrive if we put the time and effort into it. |
