Awful, awful news. The word legend gets used too often but in the case of Steve Prescott he truly was. Great player on the field and a true inspiration off. I feel honoured that I got to sing at Linzi and Steves wedding a few years ago. So sad. I' m another in favour of renaming the Man of Steel Trophy. RIP

Life really isn't fair.
Besides his illness lets not forget just what a good player he was, Super League champion and Challenge Cup winner, Wembley try scorer, good attacking full back.

Such sad news.
A true hero both on and off the pitch. I was privileged enough to get to watch him play in the black and white and also to meet him in person.
I hope they rename the award but even of they don't his legacy is such that he won't be forgotten for a long time.
