Quarter Finals would be:



New Zealand v Italy

Fiji v USA

Australia v PNG

France v England



Obviously that line up of games will change game by game but there's some pretty key fixtures coming up even in round 2 of the group games.



What a round of games the first round has been - some shocks probably Italy beating Wales and USA winning tonight.





NZ v France and Scotland v Italy are both big games with all teams winning their first game. PNG v Samoa and Tonga v Cook Island games also stand out as all those teams need to win to keep themselves in with a chance of qualifying.

Looks like most of the QFs could be blow outs. That would be a shame after the close matches to date and would give the knockers a field day.

hang on....in the "World Cup Crowds" thread, you seem to think that England will struggle to get to the Semi Final - so you must be at least expecting that will be a close game. Or do you expect France to blow England away?

IMO that would be the perfect outcome. Those are the 8 sides I think would benefit most from making the top 8. The only thing that would top it off is if we got an upset win at the quarter final stage. That would be great.

Fiji v USA would be a decent game, maybe a shock in store after watching them at Rochdale Fiji look beatable they let their heart rule their head to much and are prone to brain farts. Best chance of a shock in the QF's
