After seeing some of the 'voucher codes' online for Premier Sports, I gave them a call yesterday. I've been a Premier Sports subsriber for the last 2 NRL seasons, and wanted to see if I could use the voucher codes as an existing customer. They said I couldn't use the voucher code (as I'm not affililated to a Bowls club - if you want to use this code, be prepared to be able to provide the name of a bowls club near you), but they did reduce my monthly charge to £5.99 until April next year, as they recognise I wont be wathching the channel through the winter after the world cup has ended.
Now this has nothing to do with me not being willing to pay full price for my rugby - as I always have, and will continue to subscribe to Premier while ever they are showing the NRL. However, being a typical Yorkshireman, I am a tight bar steward, and if I can get something cheaper, I will.... Job done...
On another note, I have now cancelled Sky Sports for the winter as there is no rugby on. Whether I bother to renew for the next Superleague season remains to be seen. With 7 games of NRL per week to watch on Premier, I found I watched less Superleague last year than ever. The fixtures selected for Sky (particularly the Saturday games) throughout last season were often shocking, with much better fixtures not being televised. Throw in the fact that the commentary on Sky is getting worse, I found myself not bothering with the superleague games.
