This was the plan for the Hemel Stadium in 2010.
Quote Hemel's stadium at Pennine Way - for which planning permission was obtained in September 2008 - is proceeding but as a scaled down development due to the prospects of a Town Stadium being built by Dacorum Borough Council.
The Stags' Pennine Way site will be developed as a top quality training site and grassroots playing facility. It is being built on a phased basis with tenders about to be called for floodlighting, perimeter fencing and car parking. The option has not been ruled out to add the spectator facilities in the future should the Town Stadium not happen.
The Town Stadium project is in the hands of consultants who have just submitted a Stage Two report to the Council. The key details of the scheme are:
1. Users - Hemel Stags & Hemel Town FC
2. Location - Junction 8 of the M1
3. Capacity - Initially 6,000 but capable of being expanded to 12,000'"
