True, the guy has been one of the games best centres for a number of years but since returning from France he hasn't been as good. He's imporved as the season's have gone along but he's not got back to the form of say a few years back. Origin I 08 IIRC when Brett Stewart was the FB he ripped QLD apart down the right edge, along with Laffranchi and Stewart. He was the best in the game at right centre IMO.
This years Origin series has showed he's not the player he was, he did nothing apart from make silly errors, got dumbed on his backside by Boyd as soon as he got the ball and in the last game Inglis showed him who was the best centre in the game was.
Well done on a great career and i'm surprised it's come at that age, thought he'd have seen out the 4 year deal he signed with the Dragons but it's also good news for NSW, at least they can get on with the future that they were meant to be going for anyway. Hopefully Idris or someone will get a crack next year, but please not Hayne at centre with Morris on the wing again. It does not work.
I bet B Stewart will be the FB next year anyway, Dugan will be in there aswell but Stewart will get it as long as he stays injury free, it's a shame he's been out for 2 years as Slater wouldn't have been the Test FB on every occasion if Stewart would of been fit.

Your right about Brett Stewart I have been watching a lot of Manly lately and this guy is awesome in attack and defence to think NSW have Hayne, Josh Dugan and Stewart at their disposal is unreal there isn't a player in Super League who can match any of them.

I wonder if it has something to do with just getting him in mid-season last year. Signs a 4 and half year deal on big money but not for the first mid-season when he joined, now he's retired. Something stinks IMO.

You could be right,didnt the NRL refuse to recognise the first contract that the Dragons tried to sign him on,something dodgy about the whole deal.
