Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

| Well i wouldn't be confident if i was a Wakefield fan, it is only a drawing of what might be in years to come. One of the worst aspects of the present ground is the non existent parking.
Administration and poor management will be their undoing.

Still, this is Super League.

Quote ="spook2011"with all the experts on these threads I am suprised Rugby League isn't the biggest, most vibrant and popular sport on the planet...
at least Andrew Glover is backing up his 'rhetoric' with money and sound business accumen... I am looking hard (with bitter experience from past Trinity owners) at his plans... and he is tying the RL in knots....
the ground as an example... the improvements will make Trinity a b grade stadium (just short of A grade compliance)... [size=150if thats not good enough there is a 4 year contract agreed with Oakwell (an grade A facility!)[/size... the plans for newmarket are costed and fully funded, and literally no-one expects the PI to go against the development which will be a huge and significant sports and education complex right in the middle of west Yorkshire (which goes way beyond A grade)... Wakefield is a city team... one of the aims in setting up SL was a newtwork of city teams... [size=150the new owners have guarenteed full salary cap expediture next season and beyond [/size... with a business plan and finances to back it up... the club are (at their own expense) advertising on television... which the whole game benefits from... since the takeover the income vs expenditure sheets show the club running at a profit, and new revenue streams are being introduced constantly... the club (as a superleageue entity have become an integral part of the cities community, supporting learning and development opportunities across scores of schools in the area, including excellent scholarship schemes for young players... a new retail outlet is opening in the Trinity walk shopping centre... with guarenteed presence for rugby league sales in a major shopping centre.. like it or not the youth set up is first class... and is producing real talent for the game, some are better... most are not!... membership and attendances are up, significantly... and growing weekly... bridges with local business (including press) which were once very poor are being re-built with openness and honesty. The new club even managed to attract around 1500 people to a hotel on the outskirts of the city for a news conference!! There is a new sense of optimism in the City of Wakefield and Trinity sit as a central pillar to that... considering the removal of the SL franchise is far, FAR more than a decision to demote a rugby club to a lower playing division (and that statement does not just apply to WTRLFC) it WILL have far reaching impact on the community and city either positively (retain franchise) or negatively!
And sitting in the background is the rumour which wont die ... that several more, very rich backers will be joining the board for next year...
Wakefield Trinity were a very poorly run SuperLeague club for years.... my ascertation is that they are currently one of the healthiest and best run... and that will continue now for decades ahead. I take my hat off to the new owners of the club for they are demonstrating a developing business model based on ">excellence.'"
Excellent post, couldn’t of put it better myself. The highlighted bits I think are off real importance. We have in theory delivered on facilities something that will be weighted at RFL headquarters very highly. Spending full cap has to carry some weight, at the end of the day this is what it’s all about having, as many teams spending up to the full cap and making the league more competitive.
I would very surprised if Salford, Cas, Quins, Crusaders will be spending full cap. The chances of any team finishing in the top 4 without spending the full cap is very slim indeed. Wakefield are potentially bring another team to the competition that can mix it in the top half.
It’s looks to me that Wakefield have a lot stronger bid then in 2008, it’s just a case of how much a monkey on the back the administration is to them (of course it doesn’t matter a jot for crusaders..but that’s another argument).
