Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

| Hello to all, was just looking for a bit of advice to be honest from anyone who might be able to help in any way.
I coach RL on a saturday morning and recently we've had 2 partially sighted brothers start coming to training and they both (understandably) are having trouble catching the ball when a pass comes from 1 side. Now I know very little/virtually nothing about how being partially sighted affects people so was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to help them? Whether there are any "tricks" that can be used to help? It's not a skills/handling issue as they can catch the ball fine from the other side it just seems to be from one side.
Don't know whether it's something that can be assisted or whether it's something they'll just have to work through but thought I'd give this forum a go for any advice anyway!
Cheers in advance.

| Cheers Pudsey, like I said I've little to no knowledge or experience of partially sighted kids and how it affects them so am not sure what help or advice is available but just thought I'd give this forum a shot to see if there's anyway I could help the 2 lads out. 1 of them is pretty good at all other aspects of the game its just this 1 issue that is holding him back a bit so was hoping to help, the other lad is pretty useless though! Still he seems to enjoy it so what does it matter!

| Hi Rob
Its good to see someone taking the stance you have rather than just saying no to these kids, both my hubby and I are involved in wheelchair rugby league and we have learnt it's all about adapting just what you have to and not making big changes really so your doing just the right thing.
If you can drop me a PM with your email address and where in the Country you are I'll put you in touch with some people working on adapting the game for visually impaired players and they should be able to help you out a lot.
Keep up the good work mate.
Gill.
