Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

Quote ="Saddened!"I would say Wigan as a club, it's fans, staff and cronies like Clarke reacted to the defeat in a very poor way. They have no grace and no class as a club and their fans should be ashamed of themselves for the bile they spouted after the game. Anyone associated with Wigan has a cheek to be complaining of cheating and rugby gods after Wigan's deliberate salary cap rorting to avoid relegation a few years back.
It all makes Saturday's game very interesting. Whoever wins is going to have several chunks torn out of them. The RFL need to pick a very, very strong referee for this one as it could get out of hand very, very ">quickly.'"
In the same way that McCleannan had no Grace in his aftermatch interview?
Wigan "Cheated" the salary cap, in the same way that Saints did in there grand final winning year?

I see Longy has retired according to Clarkey. I know Hull is seen as a backwater, but that's a bit much

| Quote ="django"I agree with you there. In last weekends Wigan v Hull KR match I distinctly saw Briscoe prevent a tackle being scored by reefing the ball clear with two men in the tackle. A penalty was correctly awarded, but I've not seen any hue and cry from people deploring Briscoes "cheating".'"
exept the rule is it is alowed if the player is in tha act of scoring a try which is what the played was doing at the time of "the ball steal" ,,,,,,should have been a drop out under the stick or scrum attacking side feed dependent of where the ball ended up.

I've heard that before but never seen the relevant section of the Laws.
Any proof that is the case? I can't see why it's not a penalty just because he might be about to score. Surely a 2-man ball steal is a 2-man ball steal, regardless.

It's not a rule. They used to consider awarding a penalty try until about 3-4 years ago. Nowadays, it is just a penalty kick.
