Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com
We saw two blatent examples tonight of Sam Tomkins clamping the opponents hand but on the second attempt on Sinfield you could clearly see that sinfield was not moving his arm away when released. />
Problem is if they move their hand and the ball comes loose you get penalised for stripping the ball and if you don't you`ll get penalised for messing about. />
Personally any holding of the tackler is the lowest form of gamesmanship and should be outlawed.

Quote="Cronus"It's been going on since RL began, at all levels; clever players who use the tackler's tactic of shoving their arms in where they don't belong against them. I can't see anything in the RFL Laws that says it's illegal'"
From Section 11 of the Laws...
[iThe play-the-ball must be performed as quickly as possible. Any player who intentionally delays the bringing of the ball into play shall be penalised.[/i
