I don't think anyone over here will have a problem with the Aussies that are only coming because the money is better, staying at home. We all want players to come who want to play, not just get paid.
And maybe the point of the story is that he sees a job opportunity for himself. Just sneaked that in the middle of the story.

Also NRL players used to be able to have a bit of a holiday but now SL standard is higher and they actually have to work for a living they don't like it!
