Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. The whole point of the Magic weekend is to promote rugby league in the area. The RFL wants a Scottish side in SL, which is why they are promoting Murrayfield again next year. I would expect a third year in 2011, in the hope that by then there could be a side ready to be promoted to the Championship in 2012, and to the SL in 2015. It may not happen, but that is the hope.
They also want an Irish side, so after Murrayfield I would expect Dublin Diversion weekend being a possibility in 2012 at the latest.
Birmingham would be behind Dublin. And by 2012 even Dublin could be competiting with Paris and Barcelona for the honour, given the likelihood of a Paris club and a Barcelona club wanting to join the Championship after Toulouse leaves it for Super League.
Who cares? Bigger venue, bigger crowd potential, more money for them. Maximum SL playoff games in any one weekend will be four and these seem logical choices for two extra games don't they?

Play-off games are bigger than league games. The Millennium Stadium is top venue which is why the Welsh RU isn't lobbying to play at Blackpool. It's not that crazy?

You have totally contradicted yourself. You are rallying the games to be in Cardiff, but then say that big empty stands don't help the sport (which they would be if it was at Cardiff).

Why would the Welsh RU lobby to play in a stadium out of Wales?
