| Quote Ewwenorfolk="Ewwenorfolk"I'm the same as Dilli, I do not actually believe that Silverwood or Thaler were intentionally biased, even if the majority of 50/50 decisions went Leeds' way, however I would like your views on this Wilko.
Do you think it is just coincidence that Leeds have the easiest of starts out of any club in the league?
Crusaders, Castleford, Wakefield, Salford.
That is by far the easiest first games of any club in the league, I think there is a possibility that it is a coincidence or could it be that the RFL don't want Leeds to be put in any hard games before the WCC to risk injuries? Beacuse, lets face it, the Storm aren't going to bring anywhere near a full strength squad like Manly did, Leeds will not need to be at their best. they'll just need to be fit.
Just to note, Leeds don't play any of Hull FC, Saints, Wire, Pies or us until April IIRC. Nothing like giving the champions a head start
'" if the rfl have helped leeds out to have a better chance of winning in the world club, for our game over here is that such a bad thing? we have to play everyone twice plus wakey again in scotland so at some point in the year its gonna be tough for leeds. cas and wakey are hardley easy games for leeds its pretty much both their biggest game of the season, wakey finished 5th cas finished 7th. but the rfl giving leeds so called easy games is totally different from saying that the refs and the rfl are on leeds side within the 80 mins of a game. i dont like the idea of ganson reffing his beloved saints but do i think he has a prefixed agenda? no.
the storm are putting out the best team they can just like leeds did against manly when we had webb and buderus out injured and eastwood missing and an injured burrow and peacock who played well below 100%. leeds need to do much more than play well when adam blair, billy slater ,cam smith, greg inglis, brett finch, sica manu and many more are playing.

I have respect for these teams, I never called them crap. What I was pointing out (sorry for not being clear enough) is that Leeds don't have a game against the teams I would consider "big teams" (not based on last years league position btw, I'm sure you can work out what I mean) Saints, Wigan, Wire, Hull, Us.
I just think its a bit odd that none of these fixtures arise until april for Leeds, however it could make it worse for them later on in the season I suppose.
Ang good point, well made Wilko, but Storm showed the year bedore last that they couldn't care less about the WCC, whereas Manly did, I assure you Leeds will put more effort in than Storm (good thing btw)

| Oh Dear.
First game of the season and some people are already turning an unattractive shade of puce!
We shall of course enjoy our time in the sun, (and in the Courthouse), and when the inevitable decline sets in, we will probably understand how you sad people feel.
Until then.......

Stuck in the 80's are we mate - not surprised really, I’ve seen what passes for fashion in Bradford.
If you ever want to visit the 21st century hop on an omnibus to Leeds and get off when the blokes are no longer look like extras from Miami Vice and the women aren’t wearing shoulder pads and resemble Bette Midler in Beaches.
Might be a bit of a culture shock for you but if you leave it until late you can pretend you’re going to a retro night at Flares.

I'll give him five minutes in a big game with a petulant temper like that.

| Fascinating reaction from the (thankfully atypical) visitors to this thread from Leeds? Taking exception to and retorting with gloating because they see people being bitter over and jealous of them?
Except...they flatter themselves. All I really see on this thread are observations about the nature and quality of the refereeing?
Strange people, then, getting so wound up over something they think they see but that actually isn't there. There is a name for that. Are they still so insecure on the heights that even now they still feel the need to be so defensive? And as for LS16 Rhino...its words condemn it for what it is.

His observation was about the relative "toughness" of the games. I'm pretty sure most Leeds fans would say that Bradford is a pretty tough game, regardless of league positons. Or do you assume that playing the Bulls is an easy 2 points for Leeds?

| Apologies if I've missed this, but I don't think I've seen the Leeds fans on here mention one particular decision.
We'll agree to disagree on whether Leeds got the rub of Thaler's decisions as that particular argument is clearly going nowhere.
However I would be interested to know what those people think of the decision by video referee Richard Silverwood to award the second try to Lauiti'iti?

Not getting wound up at all my presumptuous little friend.
Check out the time and content of the OP. What I see is someone trying to gloat (the words EPIC FAIL spring to mind) about the current Championship holders lack of dominance.
There were no “predicted 125-0 to Leeds” from our camp (quite the opposite actually) and I’d also like to see some evidence of Leeds fans stating that our team is “immense”.
Last season (bar the odd dig) I was hopeful that Bradford could reverse their fortunes and the classic, down to the wire, nail-biting derbies could be revitalised.
But with this kind of attitude you can relish in the mire you call a home ground and long may your form from the previous season last.

Standard Operating Procedure from your type - argument refuted so you try and move the argument to one of your choosing. Failed, mate. There was no justification for the bilge (I've nicked Gareth's word - [ihe[/i talks sense) you posted a bit earlier which had nothing whatsoever to do with the subject of the thread. And you have not addressed the issue at hand, which is the quality of the refereeing NOT Leeds.
Incidentally, those who know me will be aware I am far from "little" - in any direction.

Read the totality of the thread mate, rather than looking for an excuse to come on here and show how clever you are by selective quoting. If we judged all Leeds Fans by the likes of you, rather than the sensible and welcome Southstanders of whom we could list loads, we'd have total chaos on here.
Now, where were we? Oh yes...any chance you could address the issue at hand now?

You want my opinions on the quality of refereeing in the present game?
OK… whatever…
Since referees are now full time ‘professionals’ I believe their standards have not improved in the slightest, in fact if anything they have dropped.
There were several dubious decisions, to say the least, made by young Ben last night and some quite ‘interesting’ interpretations of the knock on rule.
The video refs ruling on Ali’s second try was bizarre, I have watched this 'try' several times and still don’t see a grounding. I’ve even started a thread on SS saying the same thing.
But… there are 26 blokes tare-arsing around an area the size of a Rugby pitch and the ref has to be omnipresent and all seeing. We chastise these rule custodians all too easily and micro analyse the game retrospectively which is a luxury that is not afforded to the referee.
Now compare the amount of mistakes that players from both teams make during a game and compare it to the mistakes that the refs make. You may find the ratio favours the officials quite favourably.
These are my opinions on the quality of refereeing in the modern game, why you want them God only knows but you asked – I answered.

See...you can talk sense if you want to. And as it happens I pretty well agree with what you said. If referees were paid at least what senior players were paid we would be more justified in ranting about their performances. We will not resolve the refereeing problems until we recognise we need to properly train, reward and incentivise the GOOD people to make this their career. Hell, it doesn't last for long, so the same considerations apply as they do to players.
And why did I want your opinions about the refereeing? Because that was what this thread developed into being about - NOT about bitterness or jealousy regarding Leeds, despite what a disappointingly-shît stirring Wilko tried to have people believe on your board.
