Ive heard its being played in the big top.

I haven't seen a lot of League 1 this year, but I've seen a bit of Championship. And even though they're at the bottom of the table, I can't see Swinton or Rochdale losing to the third best team in League 1 (which they effectively will be when two teams have already been promoted). Yes there is a "third chance" effectively, but I think it's a very slim one. The playoffs IMO are the only realistic way the remaining 4 teams are going up.



That said, if someone did beat Rochdale/Swinton in that game, ignoring the stupid goalpost moving, you could certainly say that team will have earned their promotion by beating a team who are (arguably) significantly better than them.

Whitehaven d1cked Rochdale 38 - Nil in the Challenge Cup back in April.



Given that Whitehaven failed to make the play-offs I think any League 1 team going that route will definitely fancy their chances...

Can't say I agree with that, tbh. The biggest bugbear in league 1 is the difference in quality between the top half dozen, who are pretty much already bottom half of championship level, and the bottom half dozen who, well, definitely aren't. The very bottom championship clubs would most definitely be in very serious danger, imo and probably wouldn't even be favourites for mine, even at home.

Tickets purchased today, feels a bit strange to return to be honest. Not been to Odsal since early last season when I got utterly disheartened by all that had happened at the club. Hope it’s a good match to return to.

Thanks, I’m looking forward to it now as this game definitely has some pressure and plenty riding on it. I couldn’t justify the cost for a family to be watching blow out scores versus poor L1 sides at Odsal this year when my heart wasn’t really in it.

Really want us to start with intent this game. One of our problems all season has been slow starts and then chasing the game. We can't afford to give them a 10 point start again. Hopefully Kear has them coming out fired up!

I’m hoping we get off to a big start today and avoid any silly tactics that Oldham could potentially use to drag us into a dogfight. The last time we had a game of this magnitude we were anonymous in the opening 40 mins, massive improvement needed today!

I'm really nervous about this game today. I'm expecting a win, but preparing for a shambles where we drop everything, have no ideas and then lose by 2 points in the last 5 minutes.

Well i think Oldham have 3 props, one of which plays a lot of loose. So if we lose, then it would be up there with the Fev debacle. I said it earlier in week. If we don't get promoted, then it's down to us. Just hoping Kear doesn't try and be clever or cocky or put a back on the bench.

I get that there’s the bonus of big game experience, but bringing somebody back from injury in the most important game of the season is a big risk in my opinion.
