The last few episodes of SMTM , they’ve been saying that many championship clubs are waiting until the img report is released and they know what the target will be for next year. Taking that forward, it’s likely that many out of contract players won’t actually have received an offer from anyone yet

I still think we’re aiming for mid table obscurity and getting a grade B license courtesy of our academy.

Grade B? The bar must be pretty bloody low if we are a B.

Our academy is still decent. I suppose that’s the one great thing we have. And the young players must realise they will more than likely get a better shot here due to our budget being lowered.



On the recruitment front I’d like to see who we have in store for the FB if Hall is going and Kear potentially going. We need a Mullaney type. Good attack and good ball player.



I also wondered what people’s thoughts were on Mudoti. A lot were gutted when he signed for KR along with Ryan, Minchella and Storton. But he’s been at Keighley this season.

Obviously if anyone's any good we'll not be able to compete for their signature with cashed up clubs like Keighley.

Our academy were very close to making the grand final actually. Were leading at Wigan with about 15 mins left.

Sounds like they're the team worth watching rather than the 1st team.

I took Highlanders comment to mean we would get a B grading for the entire club 'courtesy of the academy'. Perhaps he can clarify? In any case, it's fairly pointless exercise when we cannot keep hold of them when Championship clubs coming knocking.

Foggin Johnston given another deal, am I missing something? Missed first quarter of season due to the ban and then been in and out of the side a fair bit hasn't he?



Don't rate him, but I guess aspirations are pretty low now.

One of the possible options was 2 x 10 for the leagues. A super league A and B if you like.

So I just assumed that Bulls are “all in” on an academy being one of the criteria to get a B licence. If we dust off our memories from 20 years ago we’ll be able to remember most of the other criteria. It’s certain that infrastructure isn’t up to scratch!

The academy is clearly one of the few positive things remaining about the club. Sadly, I'd imagine we would be deemed massively inadequate in many other important areas. If side like Saints were an A, it would be laughable if we were somehow a B.

Not a world beater but a decent squad player. Up most he will be cheap which seems to be the way we are going. Does give his all on the field and I think the ban was unfortunate as it was a silly mistake and out of character for him. Obviously it was a ban but I don’t think he’s likely to get another ban.



I’m sure we’d all prefer a James Clare or Jy as first choice but it doesn’t look like that’s likely these days and aspirations to keep up with big clubs like keighley are a bit too far for us these days.

Again, I was a huge critic on how he played against Newcastle. But he seems to win high balls more than our other wingers, and plays decent enough. My concern is his yardage early doors in the set due to size, but his pace allows him quicker yards than Miller, Dawson-Jones and Burton.

Reading Sam Hallas on twitter and it looks like he's said his goodbyes.

Not fussed about losing Burton or Hallas.

Neither of them were tearing up any trees this year. I am buying another ST but am reserving judgment on the team until we see the squad.



Loads of teams have no big names but regularly hand us our rear ends so am taking it Niggle has a plan b as he certainly knew about the loan so would not have been a surprise. Just glad dead wood is moving on...

Yeah. MD mentioned something about “good blokes” earlier. I’ll be happy with an obviously happy dressing room, happy to train & develop and just work their knackers off for each other.

Hallas was definitely one of Kear's favourites. Burton's not really looked up to Championship quality but I expect him to go on to become a world beater now.



Many of us will have heard rumours about some players being "bad apples" and creating a bad atmosphere. Hopefully they'll all be moved on.
