Don't think we should use a quota spot on Flannery when we have Elima, Langers, Elliott, Sibbit, Olbison, Donno & Addy. I know only 3 of those are real experienced forwards, but imo thats enough when we have Whitehead and Olbison who are playing regular.



Potter knows him well, solid all rounder.



Doesn't necessarily have to be playing for Saints or Cats now, could be ex saints or cats.

Even without whitehead there we have depth in that position so it would be a waste. I am really hoping this is a back with pace or flair

Why does he have to be a player who has been [icoached[/i by Mick Potter though? I'm sure Potter knows players who he hasn't actually coached.



As for Flannery, he is off contract at the end of 2011, no noises yet as to another signing. He can play centre or second row (the latter being his usual spot) but nowhere else so far as I'm aware. He is a good, solid player whose defensive abilities are very useful to have around. He does a lot of the work that nobody notices until he isn't there and it isn't being done.

Agreed about flannery. hes a quality player

I'm sure he probably does but given that it was given as a clue by our local paper I think it is fair to assume it probably is a player who has played under Potter.
