The one thing that every person says about Odsal is the great team spirit and how nice it is to be at the club. I would hope that dropping down and coming into a great atmosphere will help him control those demons in his head. The pack we have now is clearly a Jimmy and Karl creation. If Karl can get them charging in like he used to do then we will give the bottom four SL clubs a run for their money next year.

If he keeps his head, he can be good. But at FC, more often than not he cost us field position by giving away dumb, stupid penalties.



Hope his attitude has improved. If so, he'll be a good signing. If not, he'll be a liability. He'll need a good coach to help him perform.

I'm sure Lowesy will help him improve his short fuse.....

Only action he did for us.He had 1 good game for us at St Helens,only problem was it was in the fog and no bugger saw it.He is a walking penalty machine and not very good IMO,doesn't run his weight and poor tackler.

He managed 50 plus appearances for Hull FC and then secured a contract at one of the better clubs in SL so he must have done something other than being a liability and a pudding you would think.



I do recall him being guilty of giving a few penalties away but will shall have to see how he goes in Bulls colours. He certainly adds a bit of experience and aggression that our pack was lacking. He'll likely be facing Hull if we make the top 4 split so hopefully he'll get an opportunity to prove some of his former supporters wrong.

yes, his last season at Wigan looks below his first season there, but playing for Hull, in 2010 he made 205 carries and managed 60 yes 60 tackle busts. defence is around the expected prop rate of 5% missed tackles, average meters 6.5 - 7, but always up there in the tackle busts. he had one really bad season at Hull for penalties but seems to have curbed that at Wigan.



so I am expecting short intense big impact spells off the bench with lots of tackle busts opening play up, thats what the coach wants and thats what he should get.



As for Hull fans with selective memories, forget them.

Non-fed? Looks if anything over-fed to me. And I should know

used to love seeing him in the opposition team, he was garbage and got smashed lots! knock ons and bad discipline.

I think if he’s used in the right way he could be a big plus. Those stats about tackle busts are interesting considering our pack in recent seasons has been rather lightweight with tackle busts being a relative rarity. I see him used as an impact forward off the bench. So long as he takes some stopping in attack I’ll forgive the odd extra penalty conceded.

Agree with that. Think coming off bench at a tired defense he'll wreak havoc. Thing people are forgetting is that he's having a bad run of form then he isn't guaranteed a spot in team anyway. With seven forwards on board we've got luxury of being able to drop anyone not pulling their weight. Can't remember last time we could say that. Seems like most balanced squad we've had for years.

Fair enough, as you lot are specialists in garbage forwards you know what you're talking about.
