Excellent news about Leon, completely unsurprising that the completely made up rumour about Henry turned out to be just that! It was never going to be Henry Paul.

What's the betting by "big name", they mean someone who scores a triple figure score in scrabble rather than someone who we've all heard of?

I fail to see what we hope to achieve by bringing in a big name for 2017. A big name coach is used to working with big name players, and all too often would fail miserably when faced with a small and weak squad.



What we need is an experienced chap with a talent for grubbing away backs to the wall style. I can only think of John Kear as the sort that would make our small squad more than the sum of its parts, and give some semblance of fight against relegation.

It seemed to go unnoticed on the thread about Rohan smith, but I did mention Ivan Cleary.

Everyone thought Ian Millward was a good coach when he was collecting trophies with Saints, then he got found out when he had to drop down the ladder.

He got found out when he went to Wigan.

I would have thought we still have some new faces to come in the playing department too!

How do you sell this to an experienced coach? Other than with bags of cash that we clearly don't have?

If we land a top coach it will make even less sense than Chalmers and Lowe getting involved in the first place.
