We need a better half back than Meadows.

It’s still early season and maybe jumping the gun but I tend to agree with your sentiments. Defensively he seems poor to me and laboured in attack. A half back needs to have some zip, I would describe him as lolloping. I’m a big fan of Hooley and would  love to keep him permanently and move Holmes into the halves once he has recovered. 

It is early, and the partnership has potential but he has had 2 poor games. 

I'm not singling anyone out, but this was representative of the general feel at the Castleford game.....

I think Meadows is a confidence player.    He takes the ball to the line and a few times his passes have been picked off.  When that happens he tends to disappear a bit IMO.  He's not the quickest but his kicking game is good.  I guess at our level halfbacks will never be the complete package.   Keyes is great but not the most durable.  Lilley is tough as they come but not a great general and his kicking game (apart from near the line) is pretty poor.     When we had Patton he could be a world beater one week and anonymous the next and as time wore on the anonymity and ill discipline was a massive drag factor.    


We had a good dig in the cup.   Discipline is an issue for us again.   Not sure how we solve that but it needs addressing.   

I think keyes and meadows at the moment are both doing the same job. Ideally you want an organising 7 and a running 6 but they both seem to be doing the 7 job. Think meadows is best as a scrum half with keyes as the running 6 taking the line on. Both are new so it might just take a little time.
