I know hood 'expected' bulls to get it for sammut , but it all seems to be a lot harder than first thought and maybe their not going to after all. What i don't understand is , why don't we release him let the rfl say he's free under the ruling they gave for the crusaders players as he's never played for the bulls and then just re-sign him?? it's something leeds/wigan would do and get away with it.

Think sometimes we pussyfoot around too much with the rfl and because we dont have a big name running the club we also get bullied and told what we can and cant do, where other clubs seem to tell the rfl what they are going to do.

The problem is though the club would of signed him regardless of the Crusaders future so would of counted as quota anyway, like you suggest i think its just a bit of bad luck on the timing but no point arguing with the RFL about when we was going to sign him anyway

True, but that was all before the Lynch saga got underway. Given the option now, I'm not so sure the board would use that last fed trained spot on Sammut over a decent aussie prop.

This is very true, dont think there are many if any British props that fit the bill, the only sensible option would be to go huntingin Austrailia/NZ

Perhaps I am giving too much credit to the club, but maybe the reason the Lynch saga took so long was due to the club wanting confirmation of Sammut before agreeing to release Lynch?



Yeh ok.. wishful thinking.. we'll probably just go into 2012 a Prop down or sign a cast off SL Prop to fill the shirt!
