I said towards the end of last season that our recruitment policy that you lot marvel at (Release scores of senior international players and sign one and promote youth to plug gaps) was going to ruin us. It has this season. We won't win a thing.



And yet again for about the fourth consecutive season we'll be weaker next season with less senior players than ever before.

Leeds have gone down hill this year and if anyone wont be going to the GF its Leeds.

If we bring in two good props (or one if Frodsham progresses) we're sitting pretty. We've got guys like Wheeler, Lomax & Eastmond, all of which are only one season away from being the real deal. Soliola will give us a lot of punch in the centres. Magennis is a massive prospect. Very soon we'll have one of the most talented generations ever to pull on a Saints shirt and they'll all have eight to ten years at the top. We only need to add one or two good players per season to keep us there or thereabouts.

Just think how much experience Eastmond, Dixon and Dean got from that game. They will be better for it in the long run. In 2 years time those players could be the best in SL because of how much experience they have gained.



We need another prop for next year, but in the long run we are looking strong

The only - and only - way this loss is a blessing to Saints is that it finally gives our blokes a weekend off. They haven't had a weekend off in three years (unless injured). So they are well overdue.

But you are assuming that they make it. For every ten 'could be's' we bring through only one or two will ever amount to anything.

They already HAVE made it. There isn't a side in SL that wouldn't kill to have Wheeler, Eastmond and Lomax.

Deluded. Eastmond looks a prospect and Wheeler has looked capable, but are either up to becoming international stars? We don't know that yet.



Lomax has done absolutely nothing so far to suggest he'll make it. The few times I've seen him it's been a one man knockonathon.

I agree with Saddened. With both sides at full strength and firing I would bet on Leeds to be the winners.



That's not me being biased, it's how I honestly feel.

Leeds have hardly set the league alight this season. They've got their own problems.

What problems might they be?? It's not a lack of pace that's for sure!!

Keeping to the point I was making we have a decent squad that, if we are lucky with injuries, can give us a day out at old trafford in october..........it's down to form, fitness and a bit of lady luck (as the fat bald one would say

)......any realist on this forum can't say that we are miles behind Leeds/Hudds etc - lets get behind the lads!!

Sts will be in the GF again. Not so sure about Leeds TBH - not been fluent for a full 80 minutes all season from what I've seen and heard. What is clear is that Wire, Shudds and - to be disgracefully fair to them on your Boards - Wigan are closer to both Leeds and Sts than they have been for several years. Whether that's close enough for one of them to win the GF I doubt, but it's probably good for the game and all that.
