The first time whoever plays fullback next week misses a tackle or drops a high ball, the first thing said will be 'Wellens would have tackled/caught that' no matter whether recent form means he would or wouldn't.



The massively increased yardage we will get will be ignored.

But that isn't surprising considering how fickle sports fans can be. An old bloke next to me came out with a classic after Lomax knocked on in the Hull game- 'He's bloody awful that Lomax, get Eastmond on!'. Full marks to him for going against the norm I suppose.



EDIT - I can't confirm if it was Saddened! or not, but I suppose that pessimism can certainly speed up the ageing process

I was sat infront of an old fella, Lomax took the ball and dropped a forward off on a switch to drive it in.

"He's always doing that move and it never works."

Follwoing play he did something similar for another forward drive.

"He's done it again, there's no point."

Next play we flashed it wide and Meli scored.

"You see, we should just get it wide straight away."

How do these people watch the game for decades on end without learning anything about it?

Sounds like the bloke who used to sit behind me in C block at KR and constantly shouted, GET IT WIDE. This occurred even when we were within our own 20 metre area on the 1st or second tackle.

I think he's moved to Wigan and sits behind me.

I'm surrounded by people like that , slightly better than last year though. 1st or 2nd tackle and you have numptys screaming for the ball to 'go wide' without ever really understanding that to do that you need space and to create space you need to draw men in ... doh
