I don't understand where this is going.



All clubs have a minority of people which call themselves fans who just enjoy ruining other people's day at a game, whether it be football, rugby, cricket, tiddlywinks....



Does slagging each other's town off on a forum make you any better than the people you condemn for being stereotypical???



We are all in agreeance that racism and anti-semitism isn't acceptible, but we are happy to call people inbreds etc.

only point im making mate is that every fan takes their own share of flak, be it 'banter' or otherwise.



but there isn't a set level of what anyone says before it becomes more than that and gets personal.



Ok yeah, cas is a small northern town which is fairly poor in comparison to big cities. I live in altofts, we are almost all related!!! I can make fun of that fact but some people would find it offensive. I find it easy to laugh at myself really, but soem people don't. i could call some of my Leeds fan friends Jews all day long and it'd just be a laugh.... Some wouldn't take it the same way.



One thing we can say is that anything that becomes personal is out of order... there's no one club worse than another for that, cause sadly it's just part of society, rather than the colour jersey you wear

I'm a town fan and am surprised this aint come up before.



I honestly think people don't realise what they are saying and most don't think it's an issue.



Leeds fans are referred to as "yiddies"

Man U fans are referred to as "scum" and "munichs" by some Leeds u fans



A reference for both teams - both offensive



The younger generation just copy the olds. Every time a player for the opposition has played for Leeds it's "yid yid yid" that's chanted. And always has been for years.



For me it's wrong and has been wrong always but most people don't think it's offensive.



An education piece needs to be done by the club IMO

It's just silly. I always refer to it as like blazing saddles, the Mel Brooks film.



It's very racist, but in a way that you're more laughing at the ignorance of it, rather than the people they are laughing at.



Don't get me wrong, monkey chants and slinging coins has no place.



But even though I will get shot down for it, I will always call Leeds fans yids (feel free to call me an inbred!) both are the same, it's mocking each other's culture... but neither are ACTAULLY true.
