The best two open play kickers in the side are Sinfield and Burrow.



If one is at dummy half and the other sat in the stands, both the long and short kicking games are going to suffer as a result.

Agreed - good job Leeds have based their attack on other options

Not just about your attacking kicks though.



It's about using your kicking game to change field position. Something Sinfield in particularly has done well in big games for Leeds.

At some point in the next couple of years, Hardaker and/or Sutcliffe are going to be our main attacking kickers. It'll be interesting and probably beneficial to have a preview of this.

The only time Burrow has had a lengthy injury absence was in the middle of the 2010 season when he missed nine straight, came back too soon to play one from the bench and then missed the following two with a minor re-occurrence.

[iInjured half-back Rob Burrow has pledged to beat a three-month deadline for his return to Leeds Rhinos action. Medics expect Burrow, to be sidelined for up to 12 weeks after he broke his collar bone in the Challenge Cup win over St Helens on Saturday. "The physio staff are going to do a lot of re-hab with me and hopefully I can get back sooner than expected.” The England man is confident he’ll be straight back to business when the damage finally heals. “I’m hoping so,” he said. “I’ve had a word with our conditioner Jason Davidson and if it means working really, really hard, then I’ll do that. I don’t want to come back flat and then take three or four games to get back into it. I want to be all right hopefully first game and certainly second game, but that’s up to me. At least I’ll be fresh for the business end, so that’s a benefit. I should be finishing the year with plenty of petrol in the tank. It is frustrating – the grounds are drying up and summer rugby is coming and that suits me. I was happy with the way I was going as well, so it’s annoying. I’m not really used to long-term injuries, I’ve been fortunate in that regard, but it happens. You’ve just got to stay positive and cheer the lads on. We are blessed with people who can play in that position,” he said. “Danny and Kev can both play there so there’s no problems. Or the scrum half and stand off who take over. May well get another hooker in the McShane mould of kicking, who knows.

We got loads of hang time on the Blue Ball kicks which allowed our chasers to put the catchers under pressure.



Just reviewed our first half kicking game



10 kicks out of hand.



5 short kicks in to in-goal

5 downtown kicks all made great height with great kick chases



7 REPEAT SETS IN THE FIRST HALF = 2 SCORES OF KICK SUCCESSES. 68% POSSESSION.



Our real weakness first half was ball control 5 handling errors including 3 passes to touch.



Our goal line defence was immense and our kick return game was huge. The back 3 running the ball back and the front row dominated the rucks.

It was "just a thought" and it seems Burrow thinks the same as he qoutes that both Sinfield and McGuire can cover his position.

Now he might be referring to SH but Burrow plays hooker right?

Don't know if its been mentioned and probably wont happen, however, wont Liam Hood be available as the Dual-Reg thing works both ways...

Im not too sure, but IMO we should be giving the young lad Ward a go before resorting to those sorts of options anyway.Hood got given his chance at Leeds and was deemed not good enough so its time for another prospect to get a shot at making the grade now the opportunity has presented itself.

He's not on Leeds' books anymore IIRC.

He plays for Hunslet now - the dual reg thing should allow him to play for Leeds.

He started at hooker for the Hawks at Wigoon yesterday, I think it was his first game back after injury.

It all depends on how confident BMD is of putting the young kid Ward in at the deep end. We have some big important games coming up ad we are with out a recognised hooker. Playing Sr Kev there is the obvious choice but do we want him playing the full 80 in the middle of the pitch for the next 2 months, then being burnt out towards the backend of the season as a result. If BMD hasn't the confidence of putting Ward in Liam Hood could be the answer, he's played super league briefly before and has played a lot of championship rugby. But if BMD doesn't fancy him as a player (which we all know already) its very unlikely to happen!!!

So... Burrow out injured during the most meaningless part of the whole meaningless regular season?



Lucky him and a blessing in disguise.



He'll miss nothing of any significance.

Challenge cup quarter final? assuming it is against a Wigan or Warrington i would say that is quite a significant game to miss.

I'm afraid the CC loses it's momentum and significance when there's almost 2 months between rounds. Even the modern day gullible fans of Sky Sports summer scheduling during the soccer off-season (Translation: Super League) who stick around for all those meaningless fixtures throughout May, June and July almost forget about the Challenge Cup. They'll probably draw insignificant non-SL rabble opposition at home in the next round anyhow.

If he played in the CC for the Hawks, I assume he is ineligible for Leeds. strike that idea off.

I thought the Hunslet club and the RFL poo poo'd this the other year when Hetherington brought it up. The dual reg does not work both ways, just the one.
