I can still see this being David Williams. Pointless signing if it is though as we have several positions in urgent need of quality and wing isnt one of them right now.

David Williams name was given to me right at the beginning of this season as a target. He got injured in round 24 of the NRL, and has had to have ACL Reconstruction which keeps him out rest of this season and half of 2013 apparently. It wouldnt surprise me in the slightest.

According to Peter Smith of YEP the Rhinos priority is the signing of a centre and speculation is that it's a big name player. So if you exclude wingers that have been mentioned then it narrows it down a bit to maybe Justin Hodges, Ben Pomeroy, Brent Tate and a Storm reserve Slade Grifffin.Of course knowing GH it could turn out to be someone totally different!

As well as the top centre signing from Aus, I was also told at the weekend that Leeds have made initial interest in bringing Joel Tomkins back to the game.



I doubt that would be true though, as I just can not see us been that much below the salary cap to be able to accomodate 2 high salaried individuals.

At the weekend I thought whether Joel Tomkins could be tempted back to league but assumed that Wigan might have first refusal. You've still no idea of the identity of this "big signing from Aus as you were tipped off about it weeks ago!

I saw him play over the weekend for Sarries - he looked to be going OK.

Cant see him wanting a return to RL just yet - not while there is talk of an England place for him

Eastmond scored a sensational try in Bath's win over Wasps last weekend, he cut in off the wing and beat seven players on his way to the line. It was only his second competitive stat and fourth competitive appearance so he is still very much in development, but Bath rate him very highly, as they should IMO.

You were told the same story so perhaps something in it. As you say I doubt we have rooom under the cap for 2 big signings so perhaps JT might be replacing the other rumoured (Andy Wilson story) possible signing?

On the JT subject a guy I work with is mates with one of the players but he let me down with the last piece of info he gave me so don't read too much in to it.

If it is Tompkins id be surprised especially as Carmont is retiring and Wigan are throwing £££ around.
