| Quote ="leeds owl"Depends which game. I expect to lose against the better teams, and most of the time show little flair in attacking positions. I expect to have a mixed bag against the average teams, and beat the really poor one’s anchored at the bottom of the table. That is based on our current squad and managers over this season . If you had asked me at the start of the season my expectations would have been a lot higher. The important context in my quote you referenced was I replied to posters that seemed happy to be losing games narrowly, or happy to lose and have some perceived plus points to take from a game. All a bit defeatist and overly optimistic for my liking. Have I been disappointed a lot this season ? The short and obvious answer is yes, what were you really expecting ? Was I disappointed tonight ? again yes. Only one of the Arthur Clues “ building for the future” crew would have been happy or taken many positives from tonight. He probably bought a bottle of Dom Perignon on the way home to celebrate being beaten by less than 20 points. Others will flip flop and say Momorovski had a decent game and ignore Frawley being back to terrible again. That shows what a low bar some people set regarding us as a club and what we should be expecting and accepting. I would say the negatives outweighed the positives again tonight, the only defence could be the ref was poor for us and once again showed the two tier refereeing system at it’s best. Many will be happy to ignore the fact we played against 12 and a half men for most of the game and failed to take advantage. The half of a man managed to score a hat trick on one leg as well. Overall, lots to build on for the Arthur Clues Crew and not much else for the realists.
Good post Owly and mostly true. Suppose my approach is to watch on and laugh about what we have become. Other teams fans are loving our situation. Biggest budget/resources in the league, yet missing top 6 again. Hard to believe really……

| Appreciate the creativity of Sky Sports trying to spice things up, but let's be honest—hearing minor celebs who clearly have no clue about the sport isn't quite hitting the mark. I like the concept, but how about we aim for some bigger names who actually know what they're talking about next time? Some examples could be: Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Adam Hills, Stuart Pearce, Roy Keane, Johnny Vegas or Brownlee Brothers.

And this is where the powers that be fall down and fail, get these people invited, get them in attendance, the cost of a couple of freebie tickets and access to the vip room and food could well get you the shot of 'celebs' in the crowd that are much needed.

Shows how bad things are, if that’s what’s needed to promote this once great sport……!

| It's all about social media though, get them (the celebs), to the games, get them ting, treble xxx'ing, clock ticking or whatever and it reaches people who might not neccessarily give the game a second look. You got to raise the profile of the game somehow, relying on Sky/BBC to do it is a non-starter, you just have to look at the "secondary" matches on Sky, no commentary or punditry during half time, just general stadium sounds, how half d/doing it on the cheap is that?.
