Don’t get me wrong I’m a big Gannon fan, think we all are, I was just thinking he’d likely be up against Bateman in an away PO game at Wigan, not sure it’s the best for a 17 year old. Ten years ago we could have put Carl Ablett and Delaney up in Bateman’s grid to settle him down.

Who knows how much risk is being run playing Mik, Mellor and King, maybe Gannon still plays if they are all not really fit.
For mine never been keen on sending a boy to do a man’s job.

He could be in bother for a shoulder charge but no contact with the head in my opinion.
Great commitment from both players going into contact, you can really see it when you slow it down.

Do you really think there was only 3x as many Wigan fans there? We were saying it was probably more of a 9k crowd and was down to the usual fiddling of gate receipts as SL take a cut for play-offs.

take care fwiw apart from early 1st tackle errors enjoyed it as an evenly matched 4 v 5 game. realistically sts and cats been miles ahead but it's any given friday /thurs and they both have to turn up. now as can't get there due to work do i have to go to same pub as last round and sit in the same place

I’ll take your word for it that Wigan were on the fiddle. Even with 9k there’s it’s not great for such a big club.
My concern is more around low crowds across the game rather than Wigan in particular.
