good shout Bullseye David Young is, add John Gallagher to that; my oh my those guys came with huge expectation , cost and fanfare from Union when i was a kid and what huge flops they were. i do wonder if they would have fared better had they joined other clubs of the time that seemed to go far better with cross over players, Widnes in particular springing to mind.
also the Wigan cast offs we seemed to pick up. Gregory, Goodway, Wane only Hanley came off really.
disagree with Innes and Iro. ok maybe Iro was a bit on and off but when on he was a treat to watch..but Innes was class most weeks from what i remember.
Quote="Bullseye"Rathbone was unlucky to break his jaw on debut. Had he stayed fit he could've been that missing piece of the jigsaw in 87/88 as without him Leeds lacked any mongrel'"
Quote="doc-rhino"no ones mentioned a n other stopped appearing when unmasked as steve pilgrim in the time when some league players played union under false names'"
Not helped by Douggie telling press a Union trialist would be playing and then didnt sign him
