Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com
First of all, RIP to someone who was obviously a hugely committed fan of the club. Tragic.
However, Sal, I fully agree with you. Some of you will know/remember my Dad died at Old Trafford at the 2005 Grand Final. A mention in the Boxing Day program was perfectly appropriate then and would be similar now with perhaps a mention on the club’s social media as well. Crowd tributes should be reserved for club players and officials or national occasions of mourning where the individual was known to everyone or in the public eye. I don’t think that makes the club callous at all.
Also, for what it’s worth. Silence > applause every time.
