Quote Superted="Superted"It is great to see Sinfield gaining recognition for his achievements, however, I can understand why some people would question him winning the golden boot.
It's just the wrong award - good player and great leader that he is, he is never in a million years 'the best player in the world'.
The man of steel award would have been much more suitable in my opinion, as he does have the biggest impact on his team in Superleague - although the players clearly voted Tomkins, so there can be no argument over the result of that.
What is great is that the press have obviously recognised his achievements and his standing in the game, and felt 'the golden boot' is the right way to reward this - it just probably isn't the most appropriate award.
Anyhow - excellent news in general - and although I have been one to criticise his skill levels at times in the past, for me he will go down as Leeds greatest player of all time - not for his individual skill, but for his whole impact on the club.'"
i can see why the players voted for Sam, he is so illusive and shows sparks of brilliance and im sure many of the players voted for him by remembering a blistering run he made around them in a game and they thought at the time 'blimey that was bl00dy good'
you don't get that with Sinfield, he isn't flash, he isn't spectacular but he is excellent at leading/kicking/thinking and the most important player in the most successful SL team ever
cant people on here be happy that an English guy won the award? instead of discrediting him at every chance? We ALL should be proud that a SL player is recognized in this way
