Quote William Eve="William Eve"Feel free to keep me entertained with your non like-for-like comparisons

And congratulations to Canterbury on reaching the Grand Final after several seasons of not even finishing in the Top 8... they finished bottom in 2008... such is the unpredictability of that competition. Good effort from Souths too given they qualified for the finals for the first time since 1989. I considered them the only whipping boy NRL rabble club but not any longer.
I do believe the SL season finally kicks off next week. Oh, it'll be Wigan, Saints, Warrington and Leeds again
'"
I gave a like-for-like comparison in the results of the semi's and GF results when the situation is the same...4 teams, 2 had the previous week off, no 2nd chance. SL fares much better than the NRL in the like-for-like comparison, but because it doesn't help your views you bury your head in the sand about them.
You come up with (expected) poor reasoning for the closeness of the findings (the 1st vs 8th system NRL had) but the results show that has helped the NRL as the current 17.8 points difference in the newly formatted 2012 Playoffs is the NRL's highest in those 4 years shown.
You cry for consistancy from teams in SL week-in week-out wanting their best yet NRL has the likes of
Sydney Roosters - 1st & Grand Finalists (2004) 9th (2005) 14th (2006) 10th (2007) 4th (200icon_cool.gif 16th (2009) 6th & Grand Finalists (2010) 11th (2011) 13th (2012)
Canterbury - 2nd & Winners (2004) 12th (2005) 2nd (2006) 6th (2007) 16th (200icon_cool.gif 2nd (2009) 13th (2010) 9th (2011) 1st & Grand Finalist (2012)
Both finished in the top 2 and contested the GF the same year (2004) as when Leeds did to claim their first GF & LLS, yet only twice has either made a GF since whilst Leeds have reached Old Trafford 5 more times and are 80 mins away again.
Penrith - 11th (2009) 2nd (2010) 12th (2011) 15th (2012).
Parramatta - 8th & Grand Finalists (2009) to wooden spoon in 2012.
NZ Warriors - 14th (2009) 5th (2010) 6th & Grand Finalists (2011) 14th (2012)
Where is the year-on-year consistancy??? The greatest teams have prolonged success over several years, not 1 good year and then slip away for 3 or 4 years. You'll say this shows how easy SL is that the same clubs like Leeds can stay at the top but i think it shows how in NRL you can be a 1 year wonder and afford to drop to an extent that you don't even make the playoffs for a couple of years and it doesn't really matter as clubs relax on their past success. I'd rather have teams that prove themselves repeatedly over the course of several years, not once every 5 years thanks.
